Miranda B. Grigg began her education career in 2009 as a 4th grade teacher at Boiling Springs Elementary in Spartanburg School District 2. She taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies as well as 7th Grade Math and Science at Blacksburg Middle School from 2010-2016. She then moved to Blacksburg High where she was a math teacher and taught in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program from 2016-2018.  Mrs.Grigg was a Blacksburg High School assistant principal for the past three years.  From 2012-2018, she was also the Blacksburg High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach.    

Mrs. Grigg is a 2005 Blacksburg High School graduate and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina in 2009. She earned her master’s degree in executive leadership studies from Gardner-Webb University in 2014, and she is currently a doctoral student at Gardner-Webb University.

Mrs. Grigg and her husband, Michael, have a 7-year old son Brooks.  “I am a sports-junkie (Go Wildcats), love to walk when I can find time, and a workaholic. I love laughing, singing loudly in my car (alone), and attending sporting events of all kinds with my family.”

Mrs. Grigg has now moved next door to serve alongside the faculty and staff of Blacksburg Middle school as the principal.  “I believe the Blacksburg schools are a treasure among many within the Cherokee County School District. As a member of the Blacksburg community, I believe in the success of our educational programs, the arts, athletics, and all of the entities that make us the Wildcats. I have a strong passion for educating and mentoring students of all ages, in hopes of creating a lasting impact on the success in Blacksburg. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and begin my relationship with the students, staff, and families of the Blacksburg Middle School community.”
